I’m Sarah Scott, a Speech Pathology specialist with over 18 years of experience. My passion for helping others has led me to specialize in the assessment and management of complex speech, language, voice, and swallowing disorders, primarily within adult clientele.
My career has been a journey across many diverse settings. I’ve had the privilege of working in regional and tertiary hospitals, aged care facilities, and community environments across Brisbane and Queensland at large. This variety has gifted me a deep understanding of the multifaceted challenges faced by those with communication and swallowing disorders, particularly in the context of neurodegenerative diseases, stroke, brain injury, and ageing.
Having a keen interest in working with individuals living with Parkinson’s Disease, I am a certified practitioner in delivering the Speak Out! and LSVT programmes. My goal is to create a supportive and collaborative environment where my clients can feel confident and secure as they navigate their unique paths towards improved communication.
In addition to my private practice, I currently hold a position at the Australian Catholic University, where I educate and guide third and fourth-year speech pathology students in a clinical setting. This role allows me to shape the future of our field by instilling in our future professionals a sense of curiosity, empathy, and dedication that goes beyond textbook knowledge.
My private practice offers a mobile service catering to adults struggling with speech, language, voice, cognitive-communication, and swallowing difficulties. The convenience of mobile service provision allows me to meet clients in a setting that’s most comfortable for them, thereby enabling them to focus wholly on their recovery and improvement.
